Police Shoot Man in Indio
Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Indio Monday night.
According to Ben Guitron with Indio Police, they had a 9-1-1 call at 8:59 Monday night that a man with a gun was walking up and down Valencia Street, between Sungold and Monroe Streets.
When officers arrived, they found a person matching the description at Sungold and Hoover Street.
Officers tried to make contact, when a shooting occurred between the officers and the suspect. The suspect was shot and taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition and identity are unknown at this time.
No one else was injured in this shooting.
Police could not say yet if the man had fired at police, and said they are in the process of investigating this officer involved shooting.
