North Korea could conduct Nuclear Test
Yongbyon, North Korea - South Korea believes the north is preparing to conduct a nuclear test.
A spokesman for South Korea's defense ministry said Thursday, Korean time, that it is closely monitoring military movement and nuclear test preparations in the north. The Associated Press is reporting that North Korea is warning that it's prepared to conduct a nuclear test and to carry out more long-range missile launches.
According to the A.P. The north's national defense commission threatened to wage a quote "full-fledged confrontation" against the United States for what it calls continued hostility.
The threats from the north come just days after the UN security council unanimously condemned North Korea's December long-range rocket launch. A South Korean news agency also reported today (Wednesday) that the north had dug a tunnel for a nuclear test in Punggye-ri and the tunnel had recently been sealed indicating the preparations for a test had been completed.
