INDIO - Rain or Shine hundreds if not thousands turned out for the first day of the Southwest Arts Festival.

The arts festival is celebrating its 27th year as one of the country's premier art festivals. The festival kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday at the Empire Polo Club. It features over 250 artists showing traditional, contemporary and abstract fine works of art.

 

Hours for this year's festival are 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Ticket prices are 8 dollars a day or 12 dollars for a weekend pass. Kids get in free.
