Local Family Disappeared in Mexico
LA QUINTA- A local family is seeking answers into the disappearance of three of their loved ones. The Coachella Valley family says their relatives went to Mexico for the holidays and never returned. Now they are desperately seeking help to find answers.
Roberto Munoz, wife Cecilia Munoz and grandson Armando Salinas should have been back in California January 7th.
"We just want them home, regardless of whatever situation, we just want them home," said Pricilla Ramirez, sister of Salinas.
The family says they've contacted the appropriate agencies, everyone from the FBI to the State Department, but they say they've gotten nowhere.
"I know it's too easy for people to slip through the cracks and I'm not going to allow that. I will call them for months if I have to but I'm not going to let them forget about them," said Delphina Layton, sister of Cecilia Munoz.
The three missing relatives said they would be traveling through Chihuahua Mexico, cutting through the border town Ciudad Juarez. It's an area the State Department warns is plagued by drug violence. The family says border records show the three Californians never crossed back into the United States.
"Dead or alive we want them home, and to have closure of what happened to them," said Maria Bocanegra, mother of Salinas.
