Duroville Dogs Update
THOUSAND PALMS-- We have an update on the dozens of dogs rescued from the Duroville Home Park in Thermal. Seven Duroville dogs have been adopted out, and the shelter says that's partly due to the media attention from KMIR6 News.
We got a look at the first Duroville dog to be adopted and that is 2-year-old Goldie.
"One of the most important missions in all of this is not letting Duroville happen again, and we need to go attack that area with spay and neuter programs for these folks," says John Welsh of Riverside County Animal Services.
"It's not going to happen over night, it's going to take a long time, but we will all work together to get this problem resolved," says Stacey Lawler from Save a Pet, Desert Hot Springs.
The local animal organizations plan to meet once a week to work toward a solution for the stray dog problem in Riverside County.
As far as the Duroville dogs, organizers say none will be euthanized, and there are still several more up for adopton. If you're interested in adopting one, visit the following website: http://www.rcdas.org/home/
