WHITEWATER - Traffic was backed up for miles following a major accident on Interstate 10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, it all started around 6:30 p.m. Thursday night near Highway 62. A person had crashed their car when they were hit by another oncoming vehicle. Two people were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Two lanes of the freeway were reopened around 7:30 p.m. and the freeway was completely reopened around 9 p.m..
