UPDATE: Larson Justice Center Evacuated

INDIO - Firefighters spent nearly two hours searching through an evacuated Larson Justice Center Friday afternoon following reports of the smell of smoke coming from an elevator.

The building was quickly evacuated and some people were told their court appointments were being rescheduled. People were being allowed back into the building shortly before 2 P.M.

Upon arriving, firefighters reported smoke showing from the exterior of the three-story building, located at 46200 Oasis Street in Indio.

Nearly 40 firefighters responded to the scene. There have been no reports of serious damage to the building or injuries.
