PALM SPRINGS - A woman is hospitalized after being struck by a car.
It happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday night on Ocotillo Avenue near Palm Canyon Drive. According to eye-witnesses the woman was unresponsive immediately after the crash. The driver got out of the car and rushed to her aide by removing his own shirt and using it to brace her head until paramedics could arrive. Police closed down the roadway for two hours as they investigated. No word yet if alcohol played a factor in the crash and who was at fault.
