INDIAN WELLS--Day two of the BNP Paribas open was in full swing Tuesday as the men's qualifying draw got underway.

The second straight day of free play hit the Indian Wells Tennis Garden

“You get to watch the top players and today is very popular,” Tournament Director Steve Simon said. “They're all getting into town, they're all going out and practicing and you can get so close to the players, it's actually a lot of fun.”

Fans took full advantage of the practice courts, watching their favorite players, getting a sneak peak at the tournament play to come. For fans like William Silva, it's a 20-year tradition.

“It's gotten more popular, better players, faster racquets serving-wise and more competition,” Silva said.

The best players in tennis are duking it out on the courts. Defending champ and number one women's player, Victoria Azarenka is one of this years main attractions -- along with fan favorites Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova.

“We've been here for some of the final matches and it's just terrific,” tennis fan Janet Salowe said.

Big names, big serves and big crowds, as the stars of tennis rally the fans for another two weeks of tennis gold.

Tournament play kicks off Wednesday with the women's main draw. The men’s main draw starts March 7th.
