ANZA - Business owners and residents in the mountain community of Anza say the morning quake certainly startled them, but luckily that's about all it did.

Fire officials report no damages or injures from the quake, but at several businesses, employees saw merchandise shaking off the shelves. More than anything though, residents say the shaking serves as a reminder to stay ready for a big one.

"The car started rocking and rolling and I mean it wouldn't stop and then it stopped for a little bit and then went again," said Anza resident Carole Drake.

Anza schools stayed open for the day and teachers instructed kids to duck and cover. While the Coachella Valley had many 9-1-1 calls due to alarms going off, fire crews in Anza said they didn't get many calls. They said surprisingly most of the three thousand people in the town just went about their day.
