High School Teacher Faces Multiple Charges
PALM SPRINGS - A school teacher is now facing a number of charges after he was accused of molesting one of his students.
Ronald Bishop, 41, is charged with one felony count each of contacting a minor with intent to commit crimes, unlawful bodily injury and or sexual penetration by means of force and possession of material showing minors in sex acts. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of molesting a child under 18.
Bishop was arrested back in January in the Palm Springs high school parking lot. Police say they had received reports about a child annoyance claim involving a 15 year old student. Bishop would contact the student via text message and Facebook. The school district said he has been placed on adminstrative leave. He is expected to be arraigned Friday in Indio.
